We are planning a Spring Clean-up Day for Saturday June 16th. Please reserve the day to help with both indoor and outdoor cleaning. If you have any questions or suggestions, please talk to one of the Deacons.
As we have done for the last few years, we are planning a special service on Good Friday (April 6) at 10:30 AM. The theme will be 'I Should Have Been Crucified.' If you have any questions, please talk to P. Fletcher.
We are excited that the Lord has blessed (and continues to bless) us with so many babies in the assembly. We recognize that we have a vital mission field right here in our midst - for parents it must be the primary mission. We know that raising up a Godly generation will also be a spiritual battle. Therefore, as a local body of Christ, we have a responsibility to support and encourage young families - especially parents.
To that end, we want to publicly pray for our families next Sunday (Feb 26) at the Family Bible Hour, and to commit ourselves to standing with them in this vital ministry that they have from the Lord. Parents who would like to participate in this event should talk to one of the Elders before next Sunday.
Bethel will be hosting a 5-day DVBS during the Christmas school break (Januray 2-6, 2012). This will be for children aged 5-12 and will run a few hours each afternoon. We need help with promotion, snacks, prayer support, games, crafts, etc. Please talk to A. Specht if you can help out or want more information.
When you think of Christmas, there are many images that come to mind: memories, hopes, wishes, thoughts of family and friends, good food, warm houses, warm relationships. Every Christmas makes us think of Christmases long gone, eager anticipations for Christmas this year, and perhaps the reflections of what Christmas should be like for each one of us. These things all colour our lives and Christmas is the time when these things are the most prominent in our hearts.
Let's make this Christmas at Bethel our Christmas; let's make this Christmas at Bethel our "Family Christmas." Going along with the theme of "Christmas was, is, and could be" share with us your thoughts, your memories, your hopes, or even your sad reflections on Christmas. Use whatever format you would like: poetry, short story, short sentences/paragraphs, even a song.
Your creation must be in by November 27 by email (emmausroad29@hotmail) or handwritten to P. Fletcher (personally or Bethel mail slot).
Any ladies interested in becoming a 'secret' prayer partner with other women in the assembly should note the sign-up sheet on the Bethel bulletin board. More information is provided on the sheet.
