Last Saturday we thought we had done a good job of pre-recording Sunday’s message. Unfortunately, it seems that the platform we were using was also being used by thousands of other churches at the same time (no surprise!), and the server was not able to handle the demand. We were thankful that we were at least able to get the audio portion up and running on time. Hopefully the sound quality was better than last week, especially for the hard-of-hearing. At this time we have decided to discontinue using the church.online streaming platform and are looking at using different options. We do have our youtube channel which we will use for the time being; we will be considering some other options for this coming Sunday. Please be praying for our ‘tech team’! 

Some of us have been trying to think of ways that we can stay socially connected as an assembly while being physically disconnected, and would like to issue a challenge: everyone commit to phoning a different Bethel person every day – and email and FaceBook doesn’t count! You may even find that you are an answer to somebody’s prayer, especially those who are feeling really isolated.

Several folks have mentioned recently about how appropriate Psalm 91 seems at this time. What a great hymn of trust in the Lord’s faithfulness in the midst of peril! Regardless of what may or may not happen to our body, we are still safe under His Almighty wings. I’m not sure I could pick out just one or two key verses, so I’m concluding with the entire psalm:

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
    and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
    his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
    nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
  You will only look with your eyes
    and see the recompense of the wicked.
Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place--
    the Most High, who is my refuge--
  no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
    no plague come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up,
    lest you strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the adder;
    the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
    I will protect him, because he knows my name.
When he calls to me, I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble;
    I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.”
